St Mary's Church Hall,
Talbot Street, Cardiff
A Ceilidh is a classic style of dance party! If you're familiar with a style of 'country dancing' it's not too dissimilar. You'll need a dance partner, usually chosen from the crowd on the night. The two of you will join 'sets' of other pairs that you'll be dancing with.
Don't worry about knowing the steps - everything you need to know is taught to you by the 'Caller' before they start the dance. It's easy to pick up and chances are everyone will be as new to the dance as you are.
Kids of all ages are welcome and we'll be setting up an area for them to play in. Please let us know if your children are coming too so that we can make sure all our guests are taken care of. Email us email
Please keep in mind we have live music, which be loud, and the event runs late into the night.
As you'll be dancing, come in something comfortable. This will not be a formal event so feel free to wear whatever makes you happy.
The venue is just outside the city centre: This means there is very limited on street parking as it is all zoned for residential use only. The nearest public car park is Sophia Gardens. There are other options within the city centre.
The site has disabled access and a disabled toilet. There will be loud music in the main hall and not much room to escape it - please bring ear protection if you plan to have little ones roaming free. (Clarification: The ear protection should be for little ones)
Yes! There is an open bar that includes soft drinks and a buffet. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements so we can make arrangements. Email us email
